Wow – Women of the Word–is an informal group of Christian women who come together weekly to support and encourage each other as we study God’s word.

We typically follow a study guide focused on deepening our knowledge and understanding of Biblical content taking turns contributing to the discussion. We enjoy yummy drinks and nibbles and just being together. Here are some comments from current members:

I have been part of this lovely group of like-minded-women for quite some years now – nearly 14 years! I believe the fact that I am probably the longest member of what was in the beginning called “Christian Corner”, says it all. For me, starting my week listening to the Word of God and learning through the many different study books has set my weeks in an excellent way. In addition to learning and connecting with other women spiritually, I have made really good friends for life! Currently we just started a new study: ‘Women of the Bible’ and we are learning close-up the problems these women confronted in their daily life in antiquity with lessons still applicable today.
Although it is sad to see every year some of these Christian women depart to new ventures, we have forged deep friendships and remain in contact with most of them. Another part I love about our mornings together is the fact that we meet in an informal way and enjoy our company” Lety Wicks

I have recently joined WoW as I was looking to connect with women spiritually like-minded. We have just started a study on “courageous women in the Bible” which is very encouraging and empowering as a woman. We are on ‘Sarah’ I have found her journey relevant to my life-our lives, fascinating to understand what women go through and how they have also come through by keeping faith! And how God has used them in major ways, even though they are not perfect. I enjoy the informal conversations we have, sharing thoughts, experiences and ideas and even historical points.

It’s light, informal yet inspiring, plus we are in very good company. Not forgetting the fresh brew and a light bite to keep the conversation going.” Neelam Challoner
